Exploring Bangkok’s Old Town from Dhevi Bangkok Hotel
Located in the heart of the city, Dhevi Bangkok Hotel is surrounded by The Old Town, shopping malls, and vibrant modern districts. One of the must-go places when you visit Bangkok for the first time is its Old Town, where you can find historical landmarks unlike anywhere else.
Don’t forget to start your day with a traditional Thai breakfast at Dhevi Bangkok Hotel before you leave!
The most convenient way to reach The Old Town is by taxi or a tuk tuk, with a travel time of approximately 10–15 minutes, depending on the traffic condition. We highly recommend starting your journey with a visit to The Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew (the Temple of the Emerald Buddha), open from 8.30 am–3.30 pm. It is important to adhere to the strict dress code enforced at both these sites.
Upon your visit to The Grand Palace, just across a small street, lies Wat Pho where you can marvel at the famous Reclining Buddha, measuring an impressive 46 meters in length. Wander through its beautiful courtyard adorned with colorful pagodas and intricate murals.
A mere five-minute walk from Wat Pho is the Museum Siam, offering insights into the essence of Thai culture, history, religion, and its people. This interactive museum, with knowledgeable staff, is a great starting point prior to exploring the temples and other attractions in the area as recommended by many visitors.
Across the Chao Phraya River stands the picturesque Temple of Dawn, Wat Arun. After your visit, strolling back along Tha Siphon Alley presents an array of quaint shops and charming restaurants to explore. Some riverside restaurants offer delightful views of the Temple of Dawn, perfect for a memorable dinner experience.
For a more upscale dining adventure, consider a Dinner Cruise along the Chao Phraya River. There are various cruise options available, so it is advisable to check availability in advance for a seamless experience.
Wishing you a wonderful day filled with exploration and discovery!”
